ABOUT THREE CATS

Camilo and Cosmo are two cats that live peacefully with their human. One day, his human’s girlfriend temporarily moved with them as an emergency plan to escape a situation of domestic violence that was exacerbated by the pandemic; along with her comes her cat Haku. The three cats are forced to share territory, their routines are interrupted and they have to deal with change, while at the same time their humans experience the change of getting used to each other's routines and dealing with the aftermath of the trauma.

  • Alex Muñoz Espino

    Co-Director

Axel Muñoz Espino (1989), graduated as producer and cinematographer in 2011 in Film and TV at the Design, Cinema and TV Center of Mexico City. He likes to create from the impulse to talk about different emotional situations. He founded the "Market of Lights" production company in 2016 and has developed his professional and artistic career from it. He has attended various workshops and diplomas in sound design, experimental music and film 3D, thus considering himself a multidisciplinary artist. He produced the documentary “Sabina Sombra” in 2019 with federal support and has made sound design for the documentaries “Air in a unexpected place” and “Lost Paradise” both by Oliver Victoria; as well as "Interrupted Message" by Jaime Fraire. He made the cinematography and production of the documentary "Unfinished business" by Oskar Tejedor in co-production with Spain. My main interests revolve around light as the essence of photography and I look for ways to unify the portrait with the self-portrait, two exercises that make up my work. I like to create from the impulse to talk about different emotional situations, seeking to dismember the nature of things.

I was born in Mexico City, for a very short period of my life I lived with my mother and father in Tula Hidalgo, then my mother and I went to live with my two grandparents and my cousin, who gave me their unconditional love and home. My grandmother is a very special person in my life, because with her sensitivity she teaches me to see the world in a different way, kinder, more empathic. During my adolescence I really enjoyed going to the towns near CDMX, going to the beach, going to museums, going to many photography exhibitions, going to the library, and also going out with my friends. I developed my taste for photography, for watching movies and I decided to study cinema at the CENTRO University, where I graduated in 2019. Since then I have directed, photographed and made direct sound in several short and feature films: "Where Will Thanya Go" (direction); "Unfinished Business" by Oskar Tejedor (direct sound); "I don't want to be dust" by Ivan Löwenberg (direct sound); "Feel for Jacob" by Axel Muñoz Espino (direct sound); "By How I Dressed" by Maresa Dzlls.
I immensely enjoy making movies, and I also really like drawing, making digital collage and voice-overs. I want to reflect in my works what I believe, what I see and what I am getting to know.
