All Is Well

Locked in her home, a young Algerian listens to a local radio station while praying, so she can stay aware of the health situation in her country, and find refuge and consolation near God.

  • Zoulikha Tahar

    Director

After a master's degree in mechanics, Zoulikha Tahar devoted himself, from 2015, to his passion for writing and video. In 2017, in Algeria, she co-founded the AWAL collective with which she directed her short film "The Street": a prose against street harassment. The same year, she was presented by France 24 as one of the five women who are most committed to change in Africa.

Curious about the different forms of expression, in 2018 she began training in documentary cinema at the Film School "La Femis" in Paris. There, she directed her first documentary short, "A Life of Essays", a documentary on the representations made, on both sides of the Mediterranean, Algerian immigrant women. The film was selected, in 2020, in the favorite category of the Panorama Festival of Maghreb and Middle East Cinemas.

A multidisciplinary artist, she is now a student-researcher in the history of science at EHESS, where she works on obstetric violence.
